2007 Canadian Icewine Harvest: “Excellent Quality, Average Quantity” - Perfect!

“The 2007 Icewine will be the one that everybody looks for”. Charlie Pillitteri at Pillitteri Winery looks over the now empty vineyards with a sense of satisfaction.  The harvest started on the night January 3 when the temperature plunged to -11 degrees Celsius for the third night in a row, crystallizing the body of the grape and bringing the sweetness up to about 40 brix, well above the minimum required to earn the title “Canadian Icewine”. <more>

Caviar: Next Time, Think Icewine, instead of Champagne!

Six of the world’s top sommeliers gathered in a post restaurant in Moscow last spring, to come to a decision on the best wine to enjoy with Caviar.  The event is told at the restaurant’s website and is a great one for Icewine and Caviar lovers!
